2010 Fellowship Program Begins

On Monday January 18th, KUIMS begain it's 2010 Fellowship program by welcoming two doctors from Khabarovsk's Post Graduate Institute for Public Health Workers.
Dr. Evgeny Shepichev and Dr. Anna Avilova will spend the next four weeks in clinical observations and professional exchange with our Surgery and Radiology departments respectively.

KNTO Awards KUIMS as TOP Medical Brand In Korea

On Wednesday January 6th, 2010 KUIMS was awarded the KNTO award for the TOP Medical Brand in Korea. Dr. Jong Il Lee, the Vice President of our Medical Hospital, received the award. We worked very closely with the KNTO this year joining them on trips to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Japan, and Russia in 2009. We have also participated in dozens of FAM tours held by the KNTO throughout last year. We gladly accepted their recognition of our hard work in 2009 and we look forward to reaching our new goals in 2010.

Bridging the Medical Communities of Korea and Russia

Lina, Tatiana, and Vadim were the the first doctors from Vladivostok State Medical University too study at our center in 2009. We will continue our efforts to cooperate with medical professionals in 2010.

Starting from tomorrow we will have a Russian Student from the Korean Studies department at the Far Eastern National University, Vladivostok. Mr. Daniil Shenin will spend a month at our center to train as a medical interpreter and to better learn the operations of our center. We also believe that this exchange will help our staff better understand the needs of Russian Patients.

On January 18th, we will welcome two Russian doctors from the city of Khaborovsk. They will be the first participants of 2010 in our travelling felliowship program. They will spend four weeks at our center as clinical observers.

At the end of February, we will visit the Far East with a team of doctors and hold a clinic for patients interested in travelling to Korea for medical care. We will also hold rountable discussions with specialists from our center and from the Far East to discuss ways to improve our pre and post care networks.

A new Award for KUIMS from KNTO

KUIMS has been recognized with an award from the the Korean National Tourism Organization for our efforts to promote Korean Medical Services in 2009!

We are the only hospital to be recognized by KHIDI and the KNTO as a leader in the field of international healthcare.

We hope to have continued success in the new year.

Medical Travel in the News

In Korea, there are already two JCI accredited hospitals and soon the Korean Health Industry Development Institute will adjust its review process to meet many of the JCI standards.
